The BJP-JD(U)-HAM combine has the support of 128 MLAs in the 243-member strong Bihar Legislative Assembly.
Bihar floor test latest updates: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will face the trust vote on Monday amid fears of cross-voting by a few upset JD-U MLAs.
The ruling BJP-JD(U)-HAM alliance has the support of 128 members in the 243-member strong Bihar legislative assembly. The Opposition RJD-Congress-Left combine has a strength of 114 MLAs.
While it looks a comfortable win for the ruling alliance, the Opposition has also claimed to have majority ahead of the floor test, triggering fears of cross voting in the NDA camp.

Ahead of the floor test, Governor Rajendra Arlekar addressed the members on the first day of the Budget Session. Soon after his address, the ruling NDA moved a no confidence motiong against Assembly Speaker Awadh Bihari Choudhary, who is an RJD leader.
To remove the Speaker, RJD MP Manoj Jha said, that the JD(U) and BJP will need the votes of half the total members of the House. However, the NDA alliance has the numbers and the Speaker is likely to tender his resignation to avoid the embarrassment.
Earlier on Sunday night, high drama was witnessed outside Tejashwi Yadav’s residence when police made a brief visit following a “missing” complaint by one of the RJD lawmakers’ brother.
Hundreds of RJD supporters gathered outside Yadav’s residence and shouted slogans against the police and CM Nitish Kumar.
On the police deployment outside Tejashwi’s residence, RJD spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav told ANI, “This has never happened (earlier) in any state in independent India. It’s a legislative meeting (underway at Tejashwi’s residence). Agar BJP kare (meeting) to ‘raasleela’ agar RJD kare toh ‘character dheela (if BJP holds a similar meeting its deemed fine, but when the RJD goes into a huddle, they are frowned upon).”
Nitish Kumar, who was part of the RJD-led ‘Mahagathbandhan’, had last month engineered a coup d’etat and formed new government with the help of the BJP.
